Harry Reid Says Republicans 'Making Love to Wall Street', but in 2008 Goldman Sachs Gave to Democrats 3 to 1 over Republicans. Can Anyone Spell PUTA?

From
The Hill comes this story on Harry Reid's allegations of a secret tryst between Wall Street and the Republicans:

By Alexander Bolton - 05/05/10 01:19 PM ET

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) accused Republicans Wednesday of “making love to Wall Street.”

Reid charged that Republicans are stalling action on a Wall Street reform bill because “they are having difficulty determining how they’re going to continue making love to Wall Street” by resisting banking regulation. Click the linked Title above to read the whole clumsy smear

But OpenSecrets.org reports that in the 2008 election cycle, Goldman Sachs PACS and Employees gave money to Democrats at a rate of 3 to 1 over Republicans.

Here's how the numbers break down: $4,468,388 (75%) of Goldman largess went to Demoncrats compared to a relatively anemic $1,459,961 (25%) to Republicans. What does this make Harry Reid and his Party? Professional "Sex Therapists" perhaps?

Harry, you really are a transparent stupid piece of work.

Similar stuff: James at Reaganite Republican has a parallel story here on BP's generosity to B'Oz over the last 20 years. Its very much well worth the read.

  1. It shouldn't amaze me, but it does. The hypocrisy that lurks in the hearts of Democrats is just stunning.

  2. Andrew, the key to understanding it all is that in the minds clinical narcissists like Reid, Obama, Pelosi, Frank, Grayson, Waxman, Schumer and countless others including too many Republicans, its only "hypocrisy" when the other side is doing it but when they do it themselves, why its just "how the system works," never mind that its how they all happily rigged it to work.

The cure for this intrinsic corruption lies in the hands of the people, not the elite. It won't be a short course of treatment (1) Clean sweep of incumbents out of the House in November 2010, and from the Senate over the next 3 cycles, (2) demand a Term Limitation Amendment to the Constitution.

Once the possibility of a permanent political class is removed, the Republic Will be out of danger, at least from within.

  3. What's amazing is that the Demos (and Repubs) think they can get away with it. According to Layne's Dictum: "We can fact-check your ass!" ...and so we shall. Nice catch.
