Note to Jeff Zucker: Congratulations on your new job.

Jeffrey Zucker:  Just a note to wish my sincere congratulations on your new gig at CNN. I see you're making some changes... Here's a heartfelt thought on your lineup's ratings problems.

As you likely already know, it appears that campy show-person RuPaul topped your network's "star" Piers Morgan by 20K viewers last Monday night. In case you don't want to buy out Pier's contract just now, you can at least more than double the show's audience by hiring RuPaul as Piers' co-host effective immediately. At the very least it would offer excellent comic relief.

Jessie Duff an NRA transvestite? Coulda fooled me....

Pompous metrosexual British Subject and twerp Mattie Chapman today opined in the Huffington Post (where else) that the women of the NRA are in fact transvestites.

"Apart from a few shrieking NRA transvestites (I think), most women seem to be either silent, reasonable, or in favor of more gun control."

Here's some pictures of Jessie Duff, a champion firearms competitor who is a proud member of the NRA.  I'll let you be the judge of whether or not she looks like a transvestite.

I'm thinking Jessie is just a whole lot more woman than Mattie Chapman could ever hope to handle.

Life in the Obamaphate: Funny, When a Private Citizen Does it, it's Called Embezzlement...

...when Politicians do it, it's called re-allocation of funds.

From the CATO Institute comes this sadly unsurprising story:

Estimate: Massachusetts Diverts 99% of Tobacco Money to Other Causes

From this weekend’s Lawrence (Mass.) Eagle-Tribune
Millions of dollars originally intended for smoking cessation programs in Massachusetts have been diverted to offset budget deficits, leaving the state struggling to fund quit-smoking hotlines, treatment programs and anti-tobacco advertising, the New England Center for Investigative Reporting has found. …
“Roughly 99 percent of all the tobacco dollars that come into the state are used for something else,” said Stephen Shestakofsky, recently retired executive director of Tobacco Free Massachusetts, an anti-tobacco advocacy group. He was referring to the nearly $254 million in tobacco-related legal awards given to Massachusetts in 2012. More than $561 million in tobacco taxes was also collected, bringing the state’s total tobacco tally to just over $815 million, the CDC reports.
On the one hand, it’s not as if I’d urge the state of Massachusetts to sink vast sums into the paternalist project of hectoring its citizens to quit, especially not at a time when its taxpayers are already having to foot a steep tab for its RomneyCare health insurance experiment. On the other hand, we can now see that it was the purest pretense for attorneys general in states like Massachusetts to have portrayed the Great Tobacco Robbery settlement of some years back as motivated by a supposed need for new “public health” outlays, as opposed to sheer plunder and the interests of the various lawyers involved.
That’s worth remembering next time you hear a proposal to extract large sums from the food industry (either through taxation or, as some in the legal profession would like, by suing them for it under some creative theory) with the promise that funds will then be earmarked for anti-obesity efforts. In practice, after voters’ attention wanders, funds ordinarily get earmarked for the advancement of the political interests of those in power.

GOING GALT: Tina Turner to drop U.S. Citizenship.

Tina Turner is one of the most inspirational, talented (and sexiest) women in the entertainment industry. As a black woman who was physically abused by her much less talented late ex-husband, and who worked very hard over decades to get what she was due in a merciless industry that forgets one even exists if you aren't feeding it with money.

Today we learn that Tina Turner is on the verge of severing her relationship with the country of her birth. In news fresh off the virtual press, it appears that Tina Turner will soon surrender her U.S. citizenship. Although I don't know her underlying reasons, it could be due to the extraordinary burden imposed by the U.S. Government on U.S. citizens who live abroad to pay U.S. income tax even though they do not live in the United States.

What's the big deal? Well, nearly all the countries in the world (excluding the U.S. and a handful of others) tax people on the basis of their primary residence. The basic logic of this is if one benefits from the services provided by the government of the state in which one lives, then one should contribute to the cost of providing those services. If not, no tax is properly owing.

Time will tell if Tina is vilified and pilloried for her decision to cut her ties to the U.S. in the way some French and their crazed government went after Gerard Depardieu.

Anyway, here's the story, not that there's much of it...

Grounds for impeachment...?

On the Quinn & Rose radio show today, a caller identifying himself as "John" indicated that he had information based on a report from his Marine son - who was stationed on a ship off the Coast of Libya during Al Qaeda's attack on the U.S. Benghazi consulate attack - that Barack Obama himself gave the direct order to the Marine Commandant on board the ship to "Stand down" on an effort to launch a rescue of the beseiged Benghazi consular station on September 11, 2012.

I wish I could say it shocked me. It SHOULD, but it doesn't. Still, if true, it may be just what's needed to end this particular post turtle's presidency.

I can't load audio here, so you'll have to go to the page to download the MP3. The relevant call starts at around the 34 minute mark of the audio clip. Here's the link: Quinn & Rose, Hour 2.
