When voters in Ohio's 1st Congressional District threw Democrat Steve Driehaus out of office after only one term, he did not bow out gracefully. No, he decided to get even. So he did what anyone does in today's culture: he sued somebody.

News for the Obamaphate: Jindal wins Re-election in 66% Landslide

Republican Governor of Lousiana, Bobby Jindal yesterday swept to a truly landslide victory harvesting 66% of the vote, far ahead of his closest competitor, Democrat Tara Hollis who clocked in at 18%. Eric Dondero at Libertarian Republican has the whole story here.

Jindal's sweep bodes very badly for B'Oz who in today's Rasmussen Poll suffers from very weak support and who has over three days in a row hit a -23 Approval Index. Rasmussen calculates its Approval Index figure by subtracting the President's Strongly Approve percentage by the percentage of respondents who Strongly Disapprove of his performance.

News from the Obamapate: Iran, you ran, she ran; its time we all stopped running and started kickin ass

I'm BAAAAAACK...... not that anyone really missed me or particularly cares.

Anyway, with a hearty H/T to Drudge, I'll be discussing BOTUS' latest flap, this time, Iran.

Two days ago, on the eve of House Oversight's issuance of subpoenas to Eric Holder and others now mired in the OBAMA Administration's criminal gunrunning scandal commonly known as Operation Gunrunner - a/k/a Fast & Furious - (Great links here and here), the A.G. rushed to the press to dump a story alleging complicity at the highest levels of the Iranian government in an apparent assassination and bombing conspiracy to be carried out in Washington D.C.

The moment I heard of it, I was deeply skeptical. It seemed to me far too convenient a story to pop when it did. It immediately brought to my mind the Gulf of Tonkin Incident that Lyndon Johnson used to manipulate his way into the war in Vietnam.

The propitious revelation of high level Iranian complicity in the plot, when viewed in the muddy light of the Fast & Furious subpoenas and coming off revelations of extensive White House involvement to push through the foolhardy Solyndra financing loan clearly shows a presidency in its political death throes.

History is replete with examples: governments nostril deep in serious domestic crises have sought to divert the attention of their populations by creating or escalating a foreign crisis, often to the point of war.

Don't get me wrong here, I haven't any doubt that Iran's leaders are anything but vicious opportunists who regularly sponsor, fund and execute terrorist operations and assassinations. The problem for Obama is that historically they have not done it on U.S. soil. For good reason, they know very well that the U.S., unlike the the Europeans and Arabs, has both the will and the means to retaliate forcefully and very destructively. Furthermore, it is my understanding, that Iran's foreign intelligence operators are extremely well-disciplined and frighteningly well trained. Accordingly, Iran has confined its "wet" operations to Europe and the M.E.

At a time when Iran appears to be pushing very hard toward its goal of obtaining nuclear weapons, it seems inconceivable to me, and apparently quite a few others, that Iran's leadership would engage in such an apparently sloppy and risky operation on United States soil. If anything, logic suggests that Iran would want very much to fly well below Washington's radar. We in the West too often forget that it was the Persians who invented Chess.

News from the Obamaphate: Emulating Jimmy to Win in 2012

Back on the  January 31 of this year  I wrote a brief post titled "BOTUS Be Jimmy Carter, Version 10x" 

I don't pretend to be the least bit prophetic, rather, I think of myself as just a moderately good analyst of in the field of foreign affairs. It seems I was pretty much on target in my comparison of Obama as Jimmy Carter on ROIDS.

News from yesterday indicates that Islamist groups intend to transform the inchoate mess that is now Libya - thanks to Obama/Sarkozy/Cameron - into yet another Islamic fundamentalist enclave. Carter will forever be remembered as the President who lost Iran and who drove our economy into the ground.

Few alive and cognizant of world events at the time could have imagined any subsequent President being worse at his job than was Jimmih, but Obama has plainly trounced Carter's legacy as worst president ever. See, e.g. this from LL at Virtual Mirage.

Adding to the irony of Barack's Libya Policy comes news that BOTUS' Arab allies now consolidating power in Tripoli are rounding up blacks.

News for the Obamaphate: Demonization has its Perils.

Two interesting polls have come out of Scott Rasmussen's shop:

The first I'll discuss indicates that by a wide margin likely voters - 55% to 29% (16% undecided) - DO NOT view the Tea Party and sympathetic conservatives as the economic terrorists that BOTUS and his merry band of profligate spenders would have us all believe. Find the full analysis here.

The second poll reflects another serious dip in support for Obama with a mere 21% of respondents voicing strong support for the President. Twice that number strongly oppose the President giving him a -21 Approval Index. Overall, 55% disapprove of Obama's performance while 45% approve. Good for today only, here is the analysis in full.

Fatuous Asswipe Politico Columnist William Yeomans Calls Conservatives "Terrorists"

That's right, I said it, Yeomans is an ASSWIPE.

Here are just some of the outrageous accusations he throws at principled conservatives who in good faith oppose the Democrats' headlong rush to eviscerate our economy by spending us into oblivion.

It has become commonplace to call the tea party faction in the House "hostage takers.” But they have now become full-blown terrorists.

They have joined the villains of American history who have been sufficiently craven to inflict massive harm on innocent victims to achieve their political goals. A strong America has always stood firm in the face of terrorism. That tradition is in jeopardy, as Congress and President Barack careen toward an uncertain outcome in the tea party- manufactured debt crisis.

Obama hits Chicago for 50th birthday fund-raisers at the Aragon

WASHINGTON--President Obama returns to Chicago on Aug. 3 to mark his 50th birthday with fund-raisers at the Aragon Ballroom, with tickets ranging from $50 a person to $35,800 per couple, which includes VIP seating at a "Birthday Concert" where celebs will be performing and a dinner with the president.

The fundraiser at the Aragon, the historic ballroom in Uptown, will be one of the biggest third quarter events, expected to draw in national supporters. Obama's 50th birthday is Aug. 4.

The Obama team on Wednesday reported collecting more than $86 million in second quarter fund-raising over $47 million directly for the Obama 2012 campaign and more than $38 million for the Democratic National Committee.

On Wednesday night, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Obama 2012 campaign chairman Jim Messina headlined a $44 per person event at the East Bank Club.

Obama's birthday bash at the Aragon was first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times Stella Foster.

The event is multi-tiered: There is a concert at 4 p.m.--Foster said songstress Jennifer Hudson may perform--for the basic $50 contribution, of which there is supposed to be "limited availability.

For $10,000, a person gets a souvenir photo with Obama at a reception and preferred seating at the concert. For $1,000 a person gets seated in a "premium section" with a "hosted bar." A general admission ticket is $200.

The events are a benefit for the Obama Victory Fund 2012, a joint Obama 2012 re-election campaign/Democratic National Committee fund.

DEATH NOTICE: 4th Amendment to U.S. Constitution Found Dead at 935 Pennsylvania Ave., NW

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was found dead in front of the F.B.I. Building in Washington D.C. in the early morning hours of June 12, 2011. The cause of death appears to have been failing health and willful neglect by the U.S. Citizenry. 

Born December 15, 1791, the Fourth Amendment had been in failing health over the last few decades, but took a severe turn for the worse on October 26, 2001 upon the signature of ex-President George W. Bush of the USA PATRIOT Act.

Several recent additional setbacks appear to have contributed to a sharp new decline, including President Barack Obama's recent remote re-authorization of the PATRIOT ACT by autopen and a few State and Federal Supreme Court decisions that further weakened the 4th Amendment. The final blow appears to have been the F.B.I.'s revamping of its Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide.

Some of the most notable changes apply to the lowest category of investigations, called an "assessment." The category, created in December 2008, allows agents to look into people and organizations "proactively" and without firm evidence for suspecting criminal or terrorist activity.

 Under current rules, agents must open such an inquiry before they can search for information about a person in a commercial or law enforcement database. Under the new rules, agents will be allowed to search such databases without making a record about their decision.

News From The Obamaphate: WH Office of Rapid Online Media Response

Team Hope 'n Change has just recently announced the creation of a new rapid response team to battle the evil forces of the vast right wing online conspiracy. I'll dub it "SEAL Team Zero"

Jesse Lee has been appointed to a new position (within the communications department) titled Director of Progressive Media & Online Response. What a perfect title for such an ideologically bent administration.

The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has usually been outsourced to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), if not done on an ad-hoc basis by administration officials. And it signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive defense of the president and his policies as his re-election campaign gears up.
