News from The Obamaphate: Mixed messages from the Deputy Dolt in Chief

Vice President Joe Biden identified with the struggles of ordinary American in an Iowa campaign speech today.
"The unemployed are really in trouble," Biden said in a campaign stop in Dubuque."My grandpop used to say — from Scranton — he said, Joey, the guy in Dunmore, the next town over, when the guy in Dunmore is out of work it's an economic slowdown. When your brother in law is out of work it's a recession. When you're out of work it's a depression. It's a depression for millions and millions of Americans."
Biden then launched into a critique of Mitt Romney's record and outsourcing, saying he believes that the American worker is part of the problem. Story here with video.

Ehrrrrr...  WTF????  Here I was thinking that the Obamaphate's central campaign theme is that we are in fact in a recovery - a slow one fer shure - but a recovery nevertheless. Biden is - once again - off the message reservation. It's almost as if Biden is really campaigning for Mittens.

  1. WTF indeed. Biden reminds one of the syndrome where people simply blurt-out whatever comes to their heads... 'cause "comes to mind" it ain't.

  2. I'm guessing you mean Tourettes Syndrome. Perhaps that'll be the hook Obama uses to throw him under the bus. Ooops. I meant graciously accepts Biden's withdrawal as running mate, all for health reasons of course....

  3. You can tell Axelrod or Jarrett decided to drop the 'recovery' jive and try a different angle... the glaring reality of the situation had everybody and his dog knowing the economy is tanking hard

  4. I find it somewhat amusing that Barack would keep poor old Slow Joe around for this next go-round rather than sending him to 'the home' where his dementia can be properly treated.

Joe's problem is that he all too often blurts things that are true while the Chicago people seem to be able to keep their lies straight.

  5. RR: You may be right about the message shift at the WH and Campaign, but it seems to me that there are many in the normally compliant press who aren't getting the memos...

LL: I think the only logical explanation for them keeping Slow Joe around is that he serves the same purpose SNL attributed to Bush 41's selection of Dan Quayle.

  6. Biden's grandpop must be Ronald Reagan because Reagan was the one who said: "Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his."

  7. Judy: As you surely know, Slow Joe has a long history of faulty attribution regarding quotes.
