I hate being a nag, especially on a point where I've personally been far less than perfect, but I saw this image this morning and felt compelled to post it here.
There has been a lot of blood. A lot of flesh put into the ground to ensure that we can breathe free air. And it is for we, those who are recipients to keep our home free.
Unfortunately, it's about the BBQ in most of America.
Our shul made a distinct point on two occasions throughout the Shavuot service to publicly recognize the service and accomplishments of our fallen heros - all of them. No barbecues, just solemn prayer and thanks. Our hearts are with that gal, above, and our thanks to the Almighty for the time we had with the hero she lost.
Thank you for the reminder.
